Whānau centred community support for people with mental health challenges to gain the skills to manage their own lives, maintain wellness, and grow in confidence. 

 

Our mobile team provide regular, ongoing support to people in their home and/or the community. We understand that each situation is unique so we tailor the support to you.

Waitaha Canterbury region

13+ years old

Anyone over 18 must have a diagnosis of a mental illness

Free service

Referrals can be made by:

- yourself (self referral)

- friends/whānau

- health professionals

Kaupapa Māori care, treatment, and wellness plans

Practical daily living and developing routines

Identifying your goals and supporting you with steps to achieve them

Pursuing a healthy lifestyle, including physical activity and healthy eating

Relationship building with friends and whānau

Connection with the hapori / community

Finding study, training, and job opportunities, including support with applications

Support with accessing and advocacy with social, legal, and community services

Access to Māori/Iwi services and support

Our Whare

Te Kākano Hauora is located in the east of Ōtautahi, not far from Ōtakaro and a few metres across the road from the main entrance to Woodham Park. The space opened in early 2022 and is well utilised, most notably as the home of our Te Oranga Activities programmes.
